Guidelines

GUIDELINES

1. Grant Applications may be made on behalf of an organisation located in the Northern Territory NT that caters for children who are sick, disadvantaged or living with a disability, up to and including the age of 18.

2. Eligible organisations must be not-for-profit, registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNA) OR auspiced by a registered organisation OR a school has a below average ICSEA index (as per the current myschools data) or works specifically with children who are disadvantaged or children with a disability

3. At least one quote must be attached for each item requested. The quotes must be less than three months old and include freight & GST charges , if applicable. Items quoted should be new and have full warranty and after sales service included. Variety NT prefers to buy local and reserves the right to acquire other quotes.  When all other things are equal, When all other things are equal, Variety NT will consider  approving the cheaper of the quotes presented. Variety NT reserves the right to use preferred suppliers.

4. Once a grant is approved:

a. Successful applicants cannot reapply for a grant within the same Variety NT  program, Freedom, Future or Care (see Variety website) for a fixed period of 12 month.

NOTE: Variety NT assigns each grant application to the relevant program category and notes when it is processed

b. Variety NT's preferred payment is on invoice, with payment made directly to the supplier. Where this is not possible, reimbursements may be made to the organisation for approved purchases. To be reimbursed, recipient organisations must present original  invoices and receipts from the supplier.

c. When the equipment is delivered, the ownership is transferred directly from the supplier to the organisation.

d. The money granted by Variety NT cannot be transferred to another piece of equipment, without the prior consent of the Variety NT. If the item granted is no longer suitable or required, before it is  purchased, successful applicants must advise Variety NT promptly. The grant will be cancelled. A new application may be submitted immediately.

5. The following types of applications will NOT be considered:

a. Equipment requiring ongoing funding, such as repairs or maintenance of equipment.

b. Salaries or administration expenses

c. Therapy and rehabilitation

d. Research

e. Carer’s expenses (Applications for carer's expenses are at the discretion of Variety NT)

f. Capital works

g. General and cash donations

h. Travel expenses (Applications for carer's expenses are at the discretion of Variety NT)
