The Variety Kids Sports Camp (VKSC) will be held for Queensland families again in 2025!
The camp is designed for children aged 6 to 17 years of age, living with disabilities, along with one parent or caregiver. Over the course of three days, participants will enjoy a fun and inclusive environment where they can explore new interests and abilities. The camp offers a variety of sports activities aimed at introducing children to a wide range of sports while helping them develop new skills and build confidence in a supportive and engaging setting
The camp is running from Friday 26th September until mid afternoon on Sunday 28th of September 2025 at the Gold Coast Recreation Centre.
The camp will be organised by Variety Queensland with the help from local and state sport organisations, volunteers, and industry professionals. The camp is free for families to attend - (one child and one parent /carer).
The Camp program is designed to help participants:
- Build self-esteem and boost confidence
- Push beyond their comfort zones to embrace new challenges
- Develop essential life skills for personal growth
- Foster meaningful friendships with others who share similar experiences
- Trial new sports
- Meet coaches and athletes and aspire to play sport within their local community and beyond!
Please note, this is not a respite camp. Participants, including family members and carers, are required to engage in activities. If your child needs care assistance, you must provide your own NDIS-registered carer or nurse. Volunteers are available to assist with casual activities for all participants.
