Thank you for your interest in applying for a Bike from Variety – the Children’s Charity of Queensland.
The Variety Bikes for Kids program gifts brand-new bikes, donated by generous supporters, to disadvantaged children. This gives kids the freedom and independence of owning their very own bike. This program ensures more children can join their friends and enjoy an active, healthy lifestyle.
Bikes for Kids not only encourages physical activity but also supports growth in all areas of life, helping children participate in school and community activities, play with friends and family, and engage in a healthy, confident lifestyle.
Disclaimer: Bikes are subject to availability and must be collected within one month of notification. If stock is unavailable after your application is submitted, we will notify you.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Reside in Queensland
- Applicants must be Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents
- Be aged 5–17 (must be under 18 at time of submission)
- Have been affected by financial disadvantage, geographical isolation or living with a disability or chronic illness
- Applicants identifying under financial hardship: household income (after tax) must not exceed $5500 per month
- Applicants identifying with a disability or chronic illness: household income (after tax) must not exceed $8000 per month
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit a truthful and complete application with supporting documentation, including:
- Contact details of an authorised representative
- Information about the children who will benefit
- Financial income documentation (e.g. payslips, Centrelink income statement)
- Height and Age of Child
- Bikes must be collected from the Variety Qld office in Bunya, QLD
- If you are applying for more than once child, please complete an application for each child
